Cost and Sources of Global Intellectual Property Theft include China and the U.S.

The estimated global value of counterfeit and pirated products in 2015 was an estimated $1.7 trillion. It is at least $500 billion higher today.

This does not count patent infringement, much of which is not reported or adjudicated.

China has been the source of much IP theft and many violations. It is difficult to quantify how much that has increased in recent years.
