From the drawing board to the marketplace, a broad range of imaginative new inventions are reaching people faster and wider.

Amazingly, many of TIME magazine’s best inventions for 2021 are available now for purchase or use. The 27 categories in their report cover everything from Apps and Software to Consumer Electronics, Medical Care, Robotics, Sustainability and Wellness.

New products include a space-saving wheel chair, simplified sonograms, smart glasses that allow wearers to see as many and five screens simultaneously and a toy that keeps kids clean.

Companies of all sizes and types are represented, not only large businesses like LG, NVIDIA and Lululemon. The range and sources of creation is impressive.

Methodology

To  assemble their list of 2021’s Best Inventions, TIME solicited nominations across a variety of categories from its editors and correspondents around the world, and through an online application process. It then evaluated each contender on a number of key factors, including originality, creativity, efficacy, ambition and impact.
